Naidu Appanan started his career in Intellectual Property in January 1998 with Henry Goh & Co Sdn Bhd where he was trained by United Kingdom charted patent attorneys and European patent attorneys. He gained considerable expertise in patent drafting, prosecuting patent applications, and other areas of Intellectual Property such as industrial design registration.

Naidu passed the year-2000 Patent Agents Examination and was registered as a Patent Agent the same year. He is also a registered Industrial Design Agent and registered Trademark Agent. Naidu’s expertise also includes patent searching, evaluating inventions for suitability of patenting and handling technical matters such as responding to objections.

Naidu has very keen interest in science and technology and extensive knowledge of innovation. This, coupled with his vast experience in Intellectual Property and excellent command of the English language, makes him an ideal patent agent, in particular with regard to the highly specialized skill of drafting patent specifications.  He has also lectured and conducted workshops on IP including patent searching.

Further, due to his extensive knowledge of science and innovation, Naidu not only advises inventors on patenting their inventions but often provides useful suggestions on improving them. In this way he has helped many inventors realize the full technical and commercial potentials of their inventions.

Naidu holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from the University of Malaya. He is an active member of the Malaysian Intellectual Property Association (MIPA) and has served as a member of its Executive Committee for the 2010-2012 and 2012-2014 terms. He is also a member of the Malaysian Invention and Design Society (MINDS), University Malaya Alumni Association (PAUM), and an Advisor to the Association of Science Technology & Innovation (ASTI) including a founding member of its Young Inventor’s Challenge (YIC) competition.
